Questions

Is there any hazard installing Besa lights in older homes with their original wiring?

Most homes built before 1980 have supply wiring rated for 60C, and many Besa fixtures require ratings of 75C or even 90C, so this may cause an issue.  The installation of a fixture to supply wiring which does not meet the required rating may result in failure of the supply wiring insulation, creating a possible fire or shock hazard.

Always have a qualified electrician perform the installation when dealing with older wiring.
